At Saung Angklung Udjo, cultural preservation happens through learning and playing together. Udjo Ngalagena and Uum Sumiati founded this arts and education centre in Padasuka, Bandung, in 1966. Angklung connects its teachers, younger generations and visitors curious about bamboo music.
The performance programme introduces angklung and Sundanese arts, including wayang golek puppetry and mask dance. During the interactive angklung session, visitors play the instruments with guidance from instructors. The experience shows how a tradition stays alive when its knowledge is shared.
