Within the Bogor Botanical Gardens, the Zoology Museum presents Indonesia’s fauna through the history of scientific research. It began in 1894 as a small zoological laboratory collecting and studying insects on agricultural plants; its work later expanded to fish, molluscs, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. A blue whale skeleton has become one of the museum’s exhibition icons, while a 2024 photograph documents a preserved Sunda pangolin as one example of how specimens are shown to visitors. Each display invites a closer look at scientific work and biodiversity. Check current access, tickets, and photography rules before visiting.
