Warungboto's circular pool and tiered walls preserve the way a royal retreat arranged water and space. The Jogjacagar register recognises the western remains of Pesanggrahan Rejowinangun as a heritage building and a resting place for the royal family. Jogjacagar describes the connection between circular and rectangular pools, while Yogyakarta's heritage conservation office records the site's restoration. An October 2018 photograph shows surviving architecture rather than the entire former complex on both banks of the Gajah Wong. A visit invites attention to design and preservation within an urban neighbourhood.
