Local notes —

The Bantul government source places the museum in Banguntapan, Bantul Regency, while the Google Maps listing labels its address as Sleman. This page follows the Bantul government for its hierarchy; the pin marks the general museum listing, not a surveyed entrance. Confirm hours, admission, airbase access and photography rules with the operator. The 2019 photograph does not establish current exhibition conditions.

Why it matters

Museum Pusat TNI AU Dirgantara Mandala invites visitors to explore Indonesian military aviation history through aircraft, photographs, dioramas, uniforms and books. Bantul’s official source places the museum in the Adisutjipto Air Force Base complex in Banguntapan, in a building once used as a sugar factory. A 2019 archive photograph shows one white aircraft with a red stripe and Pancasila marking inside a high-roofed collection hall. Its form and scale give physical context to a history often encountered on the page. Follow the operator’s rules for collection areas and visitor routes on the day of travel.
